A life-giving church in north Charlotte with a vision to build community, strengthen families and establish devoted followers of Christ. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to and hope to continue to be a church of real people looking to the real Jesus for real change. At their General Convention in uptown Charlotte Thursday, delegates from churches all over the world voted to allow different geographic regions to make their own rules about ministry. Called “regionalization,” it’s seen as a possible first step for Methodist congregations in the U.S. to remove long-standing bans on same-sex marriage and openly gay clergy. Pastor has traveled extensively international (4-6) four to six mission trips annually, leading Pastor Conferences, in Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, and Africa.
Time
Being able to see others worship and develop a relationship with the living God is one of my greatest joys. I am also privileged to mentor and teach young people how to lead worship and understand what worship really is with the goal that they will become worship leaders in the future. I have had the privilege of witnessing countless moments of transformation during worship where people find healing and a deeper connection in their relationship with our heavenly father.

Hello, I am Randy Hart and I have been blessed with the incredible privilege of serving as Worship Director here at Hope Church of Metrolina. My journey in this role has been filled with awe, gratitude and a deep sense of purpose. Growing up in Kannapolis Nc I was taught to play guitar at a young age by my grandfather. Later in my teenage years I had the privilege of playing guitar in a youth band and eventually leading worship in church services and in a Christian band. I have a desire to simply to lead others in the worship of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

It is a humbling experience and I often find myself in awe of the beauty of those moments. I’m constantly learning and seeking to grow in my relationship with God and striving to be a better servant. Hope Church exists for you to encounter God, experience hope, engage in mission, and excel in love. I am thankful and feel privileged to be part of such a community, and I hope that you will make plans to join us for worship. You also may be surprised by how honest we are about our struggles and doubts as believers.

Community groups are where we integrate new visitors, grow in our faith, care for one another’s mercy needs, pray and grieve together. Having multiple congregations allows us to create smaller, more intimate communities while also effectively collaborating on our shared mission and vision. We hope to be a gospel movement that redemptively impacts individuals, communities, our city, and the world. As a result of the overflowing that is taking place both into and out of Hope, we feel that the Lord is calling us to take intentional steps to continue participating in this great Kingdom work.

It is an attitude that we carry with us day by day, an attitude of genuine praise to God. It is fueled by corporate worship, the times we gather together. God has graciously continued to grow us as a community of people who are real with one another – real about our fears, our dreams, our failures, and our need for a redeemer. Every Sunday morning, the person and work of Jesus is preached with vulnerability and honesty.
Worship at Hope is a lifestyle that is lived out in spirit and truth with every opportunity presented. Worship is offering all that I know of me to all that I know of Him. It reveals the inner heart and the recognized value that we place upon God in our lives.
To learn more about our plans for expanding Hope’s mission and vision and to learn how you can be part of that, please check out our Hope Overflowing initiative. Simply put…we don’t have all the flash/smoke/mirrors/performances that others have. We don’t have the best programs for children/youth/singles/adults/seniors that others have – and we don’t have the fanciest facilities that others have.
God has used these two elements– Gospel Community and Gospel Preaching– to change people in remarkable ways. Outside of Sunday morning corporate worship, the main place this type of community is fostered is in our community groups. Community groups meet during the week, usually 3x per month, and are the heart and soul of where real change happens at Hope.
We believe that the Bible doesn’t merely contain the message of the Gospel but also reflects the methods God wants us to employ as we share it with others. One thing that’s easy to miss about the Bible is how vulnerable its writers are about their own struggles. Following their example, we seek to be a congregation of Real People Looking to the Real Jesus for Real Change. Watch this video to learn more about our plan to expand Hope's mission.
Additionally, HOPE has developed a partnership with a mission in Mozambique & Uganda, Africa where he has lead (5) five separate summer mission trips. He’s a Pastor’s Pastor, working both locally and internationally to help support, love, encourage, sharpen other Pastors. Matt was born and raised in the small farming town of Mullins, SC.
One of the first things you’ll notice about Hope when you visit (other than the age of the congregation) is how relational it is. We seek to be a church where you can belong even before you believe. To that end we strongly encourage you to check out our community groups. Hope was founded with a mission to reach the most unreached people group in the city of Charlotte – young, urban professionals. When we first started Hope 32.5% of young urban professionals claimed “no faith involvement” and 80% of males in their 20’s “hadn’t been to a church in over a year.” Those numbers have actually risen since then.
